Justice League Action | Batman

09.30.2017 – Celebrating “Batman Day” in the Philippines taking a look at Cartoon Network and DC Entertainment’s collaboration in bringing “Justice League Action” featuring a rotation of heroes that’s led by Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman, the main characters that’s compose of the “Trinity.”

Just like any property with an animated series there’s merchandise related that’ll be produced. Mattel produced a range of figures based from the “Justice League Action” series with first wave having the “Trinity” and here’s a closer look on The Batman!

The new Justice League Action figures by Mattel are based on their animated counterparts and the first wave has produced Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman and The Joker. The gimmick for its range of figures is the “Power Connects” theme, which you can interchange the weapon accessories with the other figures.

But if you notice not all of the members of Justice League uses handheld or projectile weapons as this is added gimmick for the kids to play with. So far Batman needs his batarangs or his gas gun, but more of this will be discussed. But Superman doesn’t really need weapons which is included when they released the figures.

Dark Knight Animated

In the animated series, Batman is voiced by Kevin Conroy a long time voice actor since the Batman: The Animated Series, Batman Beyond, and Justice League Animated. To make the Justice League Action to be the predecessor of JL Animated it’s great to bring back Kevin Conroy as Batman/Bruce Wayne.

The action figure looks great with the details based on the animated counterpart and probably the first Batman without his black trousers adapting to the modern superhero, which still sort of connected previously to the Batman: The Animated Series as tie-up to the episode “Time Share,” where he and Blue Beetle time-travelled to the past to defeat Chronos who plans to kill a younger Batman in his first night as a hero of Gotham.

Batman Action

The action figure have three accessories compose of the backpack/handheld device, bladed bat weapon, and projectile that all be stored on Batman’s back with an octagon shaped peg similar to The Brave and The Bold figures that they heavily uses to attach weapon accessories as part of the gimmick.

But for the Power Connects the octagon peg at the back of each figure is common use to attach the weapon accessories. This Batman figure is well-articulated with limited movement to the head, but the arms, leg, knee rotation, and waist joint is superb. This figure stands at 4.5 inch tall and ready for action with cloth cape.

Master Detective

Overall Batman is one of the figures to look out for if you’re a fan at the same time can’t get enough of Justice League Action. It’s rare nowadays to get an articulated figure with good sculpting based from its animated counterpart.

The only concern for this figure is the cape being small and noticed the body type for this figure looks similar with the rest of the other characters, but everything else is just great about Batman and this is a bit of nostalgia from the old Batman: The Animated Series sort of being a modern take of the Dark Knight.

“Batman” is part of the Justice League Action Power Connects interchangeable weapon accessories produced by Mattel, which retails at $6.00 AUD (PHP 240.00 Pesos) at The Reject Shop where it was acquired in South Australia.
Justice League Action" is distributed and sold in Australia by Mattel Pty., LTD. based in Richmond, Victoria.
