Halloween Comic Fest at Greenlight Comics!

10.31.2017 – Halloween Comic Fest is a global event happening all over the world. It’s the first time doing coverage for this event overseas namely in South Australia with Greenlight Comics and Gamma Rays Comics as the shops to pick free comics.

It’s unfortunate that back in the Philippines since its inception in 2012 the event was cancelled due to delayed shipment, but will bounce back for “Justice League Day” two weeks from now. In South Australia Halloween Comic Fest was highly presented by Greenlight Comics with more activities that happened this recent weekend.

The shop has been promoting Halloween Comic Fest since it was announced a month before. Greenlight Comics’ façade namely their glass display is decked in haunted monitor with Ring’s Sadako ready to ump at you from the screen complete with dismembered hand and other Halloween themed look.

Greenlight Comics opened its doors Saturday morning ready to receive their regular customers, random walk-ins, and they have local self-published and independent comic book artists as featured guests with more details.

Pick Three Titles for Free

Just like the recent Batman Day last month the set up is fairly simply to pick three free comics from the shelves a far out differences how shops in the Philippines distribute them. No long lines like a self-service pick up counter here it’s the “Honor System”, where you get three titles from the diverse comics that where announced by Diamond Comics a few months earlier that will be part of the Halloween Comic Fest.

So far the most sought after is an issue of The Grimm Tales, Danger Zone Black Betty One Shot, Thor and The Mortal Instruments that have been picked up as popular. There have been A LOT of leftovers from this year that might be given away for next year’s Halloween Comic Fest.

Halloween Themed Titles & Kid Activities

If you’re into the horror genre then you’re in luck as Greenlight Comics have some of the graphic novels for 10% off, which are on display in the table near the entrance of the shop. You’ll never miss it when you enter Greenlight Comics with all the other interesting Halloween ornaments all over the store.

The event had a slow rush of walk-ins but earlier that day there was a face paint section for kids. But most of the store visitors where adults for the reason the artist who would do the face painting was done early in the day, you shouldn’t miss it.

Local Independent Comic Guests

The local comics scene have Mike Cooper, Jana Hoffman, Jess Cate, Miranda Robinson, and Adelaide Ladies Comic Club to name a few talented artists and self publishers are in full force to welcome new readers of their works in their individual tables during the whole day affair.

Beside their featured works sold from each of the creator’s table, which is exclusively available at Greenlight Comics. For Miranda Robinson co-creator of Hail she mentioned launching issues 6 & 7 of her series this week While Jana Hoffman and Jess Cate with the rest will be seen next at Supanova 2017.

It was the busiest weekend for Greenlight Comics, while outside around Rundle Mall was crowded as well and overall another successful event for the store with Halloween Comic Fest greatly presented until next year perhaps?
